Street Map Premium Geocoding Data

ArcGIS StreetMap Premium is an Esri product that is built using data from leading global and local street data suppliers. It offers users a ready-to-use map display and geocoding. The Street Map premium subscription will enable a user to perform unlimited geocoding over the USA, Canada, and Mexico region. The geocoder will be installed locally and is ideally suited for secure datasets. Streetmap premium geocoding subscription could be purchased from RCC-GIS for $600.00 per year. Interested parties should contact gis-help[at]rcc.uchicago.edu

The  ArcGIS StreetMap Premium Locator Update is a quarterly release of a new style of locators similar to the ones used for the  ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service. It contains several advancements such as:

  • Improved address matching logic to deal with poorly formatted addresses and spelling errors;
  • Geosearch and batch geocoding of points of interest, such as the White House, Golden Gate Bridge, or McDonald's;
  • Faster batch geocoding performance;
  • Ability to choose the Routing Location (the street centerline/entry point on the street) or the Address Location (the parcel centroid) for batch geocoding results;
  • Ability to filter the batch geocoding results by specific geocoding match types, such as address types, postal, points of interest, and coordinates;
  • Enhanced support for street intersection geocoding that recognizes not just physical but logical intersections, such as underpasses/overpasses, cul-de-sacs, and roundabouts;
  • Enhanced support for matching house numbers that fall outside the existing street address house number range;
  • More control in reverse geocoding over the type of returned results (points of interest, postal, etc.) when the locator is published as a service.
